Don't Ignore These Signs

Common Electrical Problems We Fix

These symptoms often indicate underlying electrical issues that need professional attention. Some are minor fixes, others may require a panel upgrade or rewiring.

Flickering or Dimming Lights

Could indicate loose connections, overloaded circuits, or failing wiring. If it happens in multiple rooms, it may point to a panel issue.

Frequently Tripping Breakers

A sign of circuit overload, short circuit, or a faulty breaker. If breakers trip often, your panel may need attention.

Warm or Discolored Outlets

This is a fire hazard. Warmth or discoloration indicates overheating from poor connections, damaged wiring, or overloaded circuits.

Burning Smell or Sparks

Stop using the outlet or switch immediately. This indicates a potential electrical fire risk and requires urgent professional attention.

Dead Outlets or Switches

May be a tripped GFCI, loose wiring, or a circuit issue. Often a quick fix, but sometimes indicates a larger wiring problem.

Buzzing or Humming Sounds

Electrical components shouldn't make noise. Buzzing often points to loose connections, overloaded circuits, or failing devices.

Don't Wait Until a Small Problem Becomes a Big One

Electrical issues rarely fix themselves. What starts as a flickering light can become a serious safety hazard. We diagnose the root cause and fix it right the first time.

Questions

Electrical Repair FAQs

How quickly can you come out for an electrical problem?

For most electrical issues, we can schedule a service call within 1-2 business days. If you're experiencing a dangerous situation like sparking, burning smell, or no power, let us know and we'll do our best to prioritize your call.

How much does an electrical service call cost?

Service call fees vary based on the diagnosis and repair needed. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins, so you'll know exactly what to expect. No hidden fees or surprise charges.

Should I turn off my breaker if I smell burning?

Yes. If you smell burning or see smoke near an outlet, switch, or your electrical panel, turn off the breaker to that area immediately. Older homes with aging service entrances are especially prone to these issues. If you can't identify which breaker, turn off the main breaker. Then call an electrician right away - don't try to diagnose it yourself.

When should I call an electrician vs. try to fix it myself?

If it involves anything beyond changing a light bulb or resetting a tripped breaker, call a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work can void your homeowner's insurance, create fire hazards, and violate building codes. It's not worth the risk.

Do you offer emergency electrical services?

We prioritize urgent electrical issues that pose safety risks. If you have sparking outlets, burning smells, or complete loss of power, call us and we'll work to get you scheduled as quickly as possible.

Can you give me a quote over the phone?

We can provide general pricing ranges over the phone, but electrical problems often require hands-on diagnosis to give an accurate quote. We'll assess the issue on-site and provide clear pricing before starting any repair work.
