New Construction FAQs
When do you need to be involved in a new build?
Ideally before framing starts. We review blueprints to plan circuits, identify potential issues, and coordinate timing with your GC. The earlier we're involved, the smoother the project runs.
Do you work directly with general contractors?
Yes. We have 25+ years coordinating with GCs and other trades on residential and commercial projects. We understand schedules, inspection timelines, and what it takes to keep a project moving without delays.
What size service do I need for a new home?
Most new homes require 200-amp service, but we do a full load calculation based on your home's size, planned appliances, HVAC, and future needs like EV chargers or hot tubs.
Can you help with lighting design?
Absolutely. We'll walk through your floor plans and suggest fixture placement, switch locations, and dimmer options to make sure your home is well-lit and functional.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections. Being licensed in MA, NH, and ME means we know the requirements in each jurisdiction and pass inspections the first time.
What about smart home or future technology?
We pre-wire for smart home systems, whole-house audio, EV chargers, and solar-ready panels. Planning this during construction is far easier and cheaper than rewiring later.
